The Khateeb of Lal Mosque Maulana Abdul Aziz, confessed that some parts of Jamia Hafsa are built on encroached land. This confession was done in “Capital Talk”, a Geo News’ current affairs talk show on May 24, 2007. Maulana Abdul Aziz also issued a fatwa in this talk show that it is all right in Shariah if an individual decides to occupy a public land illegally, provided that the individual has failed to get this land by legal means and this land is to be used for the benefit of society, e.g. for establishing a seminary. Dr. Khalid Alvi, another participant of the show seconded the fatwa. Dr. Alvi also commented that the illegal occupation of National Book Foundation’s property by the administrators of Jamia Hafsa should not be seen in religious perspective? I wonder what are other crimes which, in the view of Dr. Alvi, should not be seen in religious perspective? Do they also include theft, robbery, murder, rape, gang rape and terrorism?
Today when Ummah has reached at such a level of decadence, it is not astonishing that Iraq and Afghanistan exist as bleeding wounds in Ummah. What America is doing with us today, was done by the super powers of that time with Israelites. At the time of revelation of Quran, God had punished Israelites two times. About the first punishment, God says, “When the first of the warnings came to pass, We sent against you (O! Israelites) Our servants given to terrible warfare: They entered the very inmost parts of your homes; and it was a warning (completely) fulfilled.” (17:5). About the second punishment, God says, “… So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies O! Israelits) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.” (17:7). God tells us in Quran that Israelites were punished due to their mischievous behavior. God states his Law in Quran about Israelites as: “It may be that your Lord may (yet) show Mercy unto you, but if you reverted (to your sins), We shall revert (to Our punishments)…” (17:8).This Law holds good for Ishmaelites (the original Arabs) and perhaps for their companions in faith (all other Muslims), too.
I can only pray that may God show Right Path to our religious scholars and us.
